School Dress Code

Information about our School Uniform

All children attending Para Hills West Primary School are required to follow the below Dress Code. The school colours are navy and white. Preferred items, which incorporate the school logo, can be purchased through Spartan.

Summer: Navy blue/ blue denim mid-thigh length shorts/skorts, navy blue or white polo shirt, classic blue/white checked dress, navy blue windcheater.
Winter: Navy blue track pants, jeans or skirt, navy blue windcheater, navy or white skivvy or polo shirt.
Reception – Year 2 students: It would greatly appreciated if parents for students in these year levels could pack a spare change of clothing to support managing toileting accidents.
Year 6 students: Year 6 students are given the opportunity each year to order a commemorative seniors top. A student agreed design incorporating blue and white is available in either a rugby top or polo shirt.
School Captains: School captains can wear a school captain polo shirt with their house colour incorporated in the school dress code colours.

School Recommendations:

Footwear: Closed shoes are encouraged and preferred as footwear should be functional within the school environment and physical education activities.
Hair: We encourage neatly styled hair. We recommend long hair being pulled back and tied up or platted to minimise the transmission of head lice.
Hats: Our school hats have our sports day team colours on the inside. Students wear the hat with the logo and can reverse it on sports day to represent their house team colour. Refer the ‘SunSmart’ section of the handbook for requirements.
Jewellery, Makeup and Nail polish: The wearing of makeup is not permitted, and nail polish is highly discouraged. Jewellery is not encouraged as it can be a risk to a student’s safety and health, particularly when participating in Physical Activity. Small sleepers, stud earrings and medical identification bracelets are however acceptable.

At all times: students should wear clothing that they can manage themselves that is comfortable allows freedom of movement and is suitable for daily fitness and physical education activities. Sun smart clothing is essential. Single tops, tank tops, brief shorts and thongs are NOT suitable.

The wearing of a school uniform and dress code is to promote a sense of belonging, pride and safety within the school and student community.
