Northern Montessori Community

Based at Para Hills West Primary School, north of Adelaide, South Australia, Northern Montessori Community Inc.  offers a unique educational choice established within the state school system.

How we began

The Northern Montessori Community Inc. was established around May 1992.   A dedicated group of parents, motivated to have their children educated by the Montessori method of education, were able to set down guidelines with the South Australian Department of Education to establish a Montessori based program at Para Hills West Primary school.  This group of parents established the body of Northern Montessori Community Incorporate to support the Montessori based classes

N.M.C. Today

Starting initially with a Playgroup, Preschool and the establishment of the first Reception class, the Montessori Based classes have now grown to seven classes.  The program is now a significant part of life at Para Hills West Primary.   Due to the countless hours put in by volunteers, these classes are very well established. This has been a fantastic achievement!!!
It's through continued dedicated support from volunteers that N.M.C. has grown so strongly in the last twelve years.  A strong partnership between us will play a vital role in your child's ongoing education.
